CHICAGO, IL - September 01, 2026 - Aagami, Inc. is pleased to announce a strategic new client win: we have been appointed by a venture-backed biopharmaceutical company to lead the regional out-licensing and co-development partnering for its First-in-Class topical Antimicrobial Peptide (AMP) spray across key markets, starting with India.
The drug is already approved for marketing in China, where it is co-marketed alongside a leading pharmaceutical partner. In addition, clinical development is progressing globally with an active Phase 2 study in the United States.
The lead asset represents a significant breakthrough in infection management, addressing critical unmet medical needs across mixed skin and skin structure infections, complex burn wounds, and diabetic foot ulcer infections.
Unlike traditional antibiotics that target specific intracellular bacterial pathways, this synthetic 26-amino-acid peptide acts directly on the bacterial cell membrane, conferring potent broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and multidrug-resistant (MDR) Gram-negative pathogens (including MRSA) while maintaining an inherently low potential for developing antimicrobial resistance.
The product’s commercial readiness and clinical profile are supported by robust credentials:
Scope of Mandate & Regional Opportunity
Aagami will spearhead the client’s geographic expansion across targeted Asian markets, with an immediate priority on establishing an exclusive commercialization partnership in India.
The prospective partner will benefit from an approved product model featuring an exclusive master API supply agreement, comprehensive China clinical/safety dossiers, and transfer of analytical and formulation know-how. The regional partner will lead local regulatory pathways (such as CDSCO registration in India), local clinical validation studies, and commercial distribution across hospital networks.
Aagami will drive target partner qualification, pitch presentations, due diligence coordination, valuation structuring, and end-to-end definitive agreement negotiations.
